Pakistan Telecom Authority (PTA) has suspended Interconnection Circuits of Long Distance and International Operators (LD&IO), said PTA spokesperson, Malahat Rab here on Tuesday. Talking to Business Recorder she said, "It is inline with policy clarification by Ministry of Information Technology, asking LDI operators to suspend interconnection circuits. The matter is sub-judice in the court and the court will decide".

According to the PTA notification this is with reference to this office letter of even number dated September 25, 2012 on the subject matter. The subject letter may be treated as withdrawn. Rejecting news about abolishment of taxes on internal calls, Malahat said that tax has not been abolished on international calls, as it does not come in purview of the Authority.
